Support Our Fundraisers
Family Connections holds two major fundraisers throughout the year-an annual "Evening with Children's Authors" in the fall, and the Redwood City Rotary Club VW Beetle Raffle in the spring. Our families and local volunteers work together to raise money for Family Connections. Our fundraisers provide our families valuable experience on how to raise funds for their school and gives over 100 volunteers the satisfaction of working side by side with our families.
Beetle Raffle Ticket Sales
Our current fundraiser is a raffle to win a brand new VW Beetle car. Sponsored by the Redwood City Rotary Club, Family Connections is proud to be one of the charities chosen by the Club to be a recipient of the proceeds of the raffle.
It is easy to purchase the $5 tickets. Go to the flyer, print out, fill out, and send it to the address provided on the flyer. We will do all the rest—fill out your tickets for you and send you the stubs. We will even send you a tax donation receipt.
2007 “An Evening with Children’s Authors Night"
A few hundred Family Connections supporters and children’s book enthusiasts came to Hiller Aviation Museum for the 9th annual “An Evening with Children’s Authors” fundraising event on November 7, 2007.The event went off flawlessly, thanks to the monumental efforts of our volunteer organizing committee, and many volunteers at the event. Authors/illustrators Marissa Moss, George Ancona and Todd Parr generously donated their time to come talk to the attendees about their careers, and told wonderful stories about their books.
We are truly grateful to our sponsors and our donors. The success of this fundraiser is due to the generosity of our supporters.
And the speeches by Family Connections parents Yessenia Rivera, Julio Rivera and Maggaly Duarte reminded us what this fundraiser was all about—to bring preschool education to low-income families.
