Belle Haven Remodel Dream Comes True!

On April 29, 2006 friends, volunteers, staff and board members joined together at our Belle Haven site to take part in a special Rebuilding Together Peninsula project that brought a much needed face lift to our aging portable classroom. The transformation of our site was a true collaboration among many groups and took months of planning to accomplish. The project was sponsored by the Stanford University Facilities Department and Rebuilding Together Peninsula.

This project doubled the size of our usable space, by incorporating the second half of the portable building. We now have a new sink and kitchen storage area, a new full length storage closet, a quiet area for babies to play, and a new parent education area.

Also for the first time in our 10 year history at the school, we have a fully enclosed outdoor space which will dramatically improve the overall quality of our program. The outdoor space includes an asphalt tricycle riding track (complete with road signs), new fences, a planter box, a new sandbox, and a new door and ramp to the outside.

Pictures tell the story better than words, so watch our slide show of the process, including photos taken before, during and after the project. Come visit us to see our new school! For more information on Rebuilding Together Peninsula, please see their website at www.rebuildingtogetherpeninsula.org.
