In our innovative program, parents participate in preschool classes with their children, ages newborn to five years. Children experience an array of educational opportunities that prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond. Parents attend weekly parenting seminars, covering a range of topics, with an emphasis on positive discipline. ![]() Everyone is a Winner of the Car Raffle!Family Connections would like to thank all our families, board members, and ticket purchasers for supporting the 2008 Redwood City Rotary Car Raffle. The lucky winner of the VW Car (or $15,000) was Brad Shepherd, a real estate professional and participating member of the Redwood City Rotary Club. His bought his winning ticket to support the Rotary Club Charitable Foundation.To conclude this year’s raffle, the Redwood City Rotary Club presented a check to Family Connections at their annual luncheon on July 22nd for $8,490 or 1,695 tickets sold! Thank you everyone for your support. Each and every $5 ticket sale has added up to help us continue our growing free preschool and parent education program. In addition to operating her own business, “The Pastry Princess”, Julia and her family are active participants in the Family Connections program. The event will be held at the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 6 to 9 pm.Our three very special author/illustrators include: Thacher Hurd, who participated in our very first event 10 years ago, Anna Grossnickle Hines, picture book author and illustrator, and Jeanne DuPrau, fiction book writer and author of the best selling book City of Embers Tickets are $25 per person if you purchase them before November 1st and $30 at the door. Please give us a call, and we can set-up your organization with a professional and clearly marked collection bin(s) for recycling.
